Field Day and Rough Trade have teamed up for a very special compilation album.

The double disc, out on Record Store Day, has been put together by Field Day and Eat Your Own Ears man Tom Baker and is full of classics from acts on the 2013 bill including Animal Collective, Bat For Lashes, Django Django, Four Tet (Official), Savages, Solange, TNGHT and many more.

To find out more (including tracklist) head to Rough Trade, where you can also pre-order a ticket/CD bundle. http://www.roughtrade.com/albums/71506

Another wonderful live clip of Savages, this time taken from their Electrowerkz show with us last year. They make quite a case for being one of the UKs very best live acts at the moment and certainly the most promising - we’re hoping for an album this year! In the meantime Savages play Electric Ballroom for us next month and then hit Field Day again too.

The latest episode of Field Day Radio is up and rolling to celebrate the announcement of new names yesterday evening. Joining the line-up: Amateur Best, Connan Mockasin, Dark Dark Dark, Egyptian Hip Hop, John Cooper Clarke, Kurt Vile, Mount Kimbie, Palma Violets, Savages, Seth Troxler, Shed, Solange, Splashh, Stubborn Heart and Wild Nothing.

Take a listen to Episode 6 of Field Day Radio featuring Kurt Vile himself chatting and spinning some tunes below…

Verity Susman (formerly of Electrelane) is something of a cult hero these days - Jehnny Beth from Savages namechecked her as a big vocal influence). Her solo material is starting to emerge and sounding really exciting too. There’s far more electronic scope as drum machines tick in the background. Susman’s vocal and lyrics are still chilling too.

Catch a rare appearence at London’s Electrowerkz for what is sure to be an early 2013 highlight.

2013 is shaping up to be a vintage year for records with lots of comebacks (Bowie, Justin Timberlake and Daft Punk!) plus plenty of exciting fresh faces like CHVRCHES, Savages (pictured, above) and Charlie Boyer and The Voyeurs. We’ve got a heady mix of stuff lined up already through ‘til summer. You can take a look at the listings on our website here and listen to a newly compiled Spotify mix of everything we have coming up below!

The BBC Sound of 2013 Longlist is out and we’re pleased to see a couple of EYOE favourites on there. The whole list is below, and we’re particular happy to see Savages, CHVRCHES and King Krule make the grade. We’re expecting big things from all three next year. It gives us a handy excuse to re-post the excellent performance from Savages on Jools earlier this year. Tickets for their show in February are still just about on sale here.
