Not sure what to expect from Night+Day next month? This beautifully shot video of the Lisbon leg offers up a lovely taster of what to expect. We’re getting very excited now and the line-up - Solange, Mount Kimbie, Polica, Kindness, Jamie xx (DJ), Benji B (DJ), Sampha (DJ) - promises to provide some sweltering music.

The xx kicked off their series of Night+Day events in Lisbon over the weekend. By all accounts it was an amazing start. Get a taste for it by watching a nice fan video of Angels above, a song whose universal sentiment has translated to mass singalongs across the globe over the past months. We’re looking forward to the London leg, which you can buy tickets for here.

You can watch The xx’s full set at Coachella above, and it was a pretty special one too. The trio were joined by Solange at once point to cover Aaliyah’s Hot like Fire. Brilliant stuff… Have a look above and buy tickets to The xx’s Night + Day below.

We’ve been burning through plays of this glorious Kim Ann Foxman remix of The xx on Spotify for the last week. It’s a bit of a relief that we can switch the format up now that the tune has popped up on YouTube. Just in time for the weekend. Hear it above.

We are on the lookout for budding gig photographers.

Would you like to be part of the official Eat Your Own Ears photographer pool and get the chance to snap some of your favourite artists? We’ve got the likes of The xx, Local Natives, Gold Panda, Chvrches and many more artists coming up soon.

Please send us an email to info@eatyourownears.com under the subject “EYOE PHOTO” and tell us why we should pick you and link us to your portfolio and we’ll be in touch!

Kick off the week with a stellar cover of The xx. Percussionist Evan Chapman digs deep into the textures and melodies of Angels and reimagines the song for percussion and electric piano. Lovely.

It’s the Brit Awards tonight and we’re crossing a few fingers for acts. We’ll be rooting for The xx (above) who have a British Group nod, Gotye is up against Springsteen and Frank Ocean for Best International Male and Florence and the Machine are hoping to scoop Best Single.

Follow us on @eatyourownears for all the latest from the awards themselves too.

Great list of Brit nominations last night featuring a few Eat Your Own Ears associated acts and some more from the last year or so of Field Day too.

Jessie Ware and Bat for Lashes will contest the British female solo act while The xx are our pick of the bunch for British group. Florence gets a nod for British single for Spectrum (Say My Name) and Gotye are up against Springsteen, Frank Ocean and Michael Bublé for International Male.

2013 is shaping up to be a vintage year for records with lots of comebacks (Bowie, Justin Timberlake and Daft Punk!) plus plenty of exciting fresh faces like CHVRCHES, Savages (pictured, above) and Charlie Boyer and The Voyeurs. We’ve got a heady mix of stuff lined up already through ‘til summer. You can take a look at the listings on our website here and listen to a newly compiled Spotify mix of everything we have coming up below!
