We’ve got The Basics playing at Shacklewell Arms on Wednesday alongside Lovepark for what should be one of the shows of the summer. Aussies The Basics feature a member who spent 5 weeks at number one in the UK singles chart in 2012.

For your chance to win a pair of tickets to this show, email the name of that chart-topping band to info (@) eatyourownears.com

Here’s a blistering new one from Ghost Culture that recalls a bit of Bowie at his darkest, perhaps even a bit of Idiot era Iggy with more Phantasy electronic bent to it. Listen over on Dummy and grab tickets to see him at The Waiting Room on September 3rd.

We’re running a competition over on our Facebook page here. All you have to do is tag a friend and let us know what show you both want to go to and we’ll pick a winner on there tomorrow afternoon!

Here’s a stunning comeback track from Jamie T which aired on Radio One last night. We’ve got him playing at The Dome in Tufnell Park (which sold out straight away). Enjoy the tune above…

We’ve very excited to announce a new show for Baxter Dury today - it’s happening at The 100 Club on November 12th.

Tickets and info can be found here.

We’re very much enjoying the first single from James Yorkston’s new record The Cellardyke Recording and Wassailing Society which is out on Domino soon. Production duties come from Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip fame too.

James Yorkston plays at Dingwalls for us in September and will have very special guests such as KT Tunstall, Alexis Taylor and Pictish Trail onstage too, so it’s going to be one to see.

Tickets.

Here’s a nice little teaser for December’s Metronomy tour and London date at Ally Pally - tickets are onsale this morning here.

We’re very excited to have Lovepark joining the bill for what should be an excellent night with The Basics who are over from Australia.

The Basics is Gotye man Wally de Backer plus Kris Schroeder and Tim Heath. Take a look at a nice session take below…

The new Woman’s Hour record is among the best debut records we’ve heard this year (SOHN and East India Youth both springing to mind too) and you can hear it in full on the New York Times here.

They play at London’s Village Underground for us in September too and you can grab tickets before they sell out here.

Here’s a brilliant new tune from Duologue from a forthcoming new record called Never Get Lost.

We announced a show for the band at Oslo in Hackney this morning too.

Details and tickets for that can be found here.
