Archive for August, 2011

After unfortunately having to postpone their previous show on August 9, we are delighted that Givers will be back in London on November 8 for a show at XOYO.

Check out their new video for “Meantime,” which is taken from their debut album ‘In Light.’

Part 2 of the RizLab project sees RizLab team up with Friendly Fires.  To kick things off, Friendly Fires have made an exclusive mix which, as they explain in the accompanying short film, features just some of the artists and styles that represent the past, present and future of dance music.  Referencing artists such as LFO, Green Velvet and Blawan; they really do demonstrate their passion and love for innovative dance music.

The culmination of this project between Friendly Fires and RizLab will come at this year’s Bestival where they shall be curating a Friday night line-up with the best that dance music has to offer, with DJ sets and live collaborations from SBTRKT, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, LONE, Frankie Knuckles and A Guy Called Gerald.

To find out more about the RizLab projects, listen to and watch the Friendly Fires mix and film, and have the chance to win tickets to this years Bestival; head over to the RizLab website:

Check out this great live session that King Creosote & Jon Hopkins recorded for The Guardian.  During this session, they perform “John Taylor’s Month Away” and discuss how they came to write the song.

A week today, Kurt Vile & The Violators and Woods play at the Scala as part of their tour to celebrate the release of their split 7” release, and psych-folk outfit Woods have now premiered their lead track from the EP, “Skulls,” over on Pitchfork.
