King Creosote

SAM LEE
Barbican
Saturday 10 October 2015

£22

Kenny Anderson paints a musical picture of his beloved homeland. Scotland runs through the delicate vocals and folk guitar of his indie-pop.

In his most recent release, the score to archive film, From Scotland With Love, Anderson takes you from the country’s past through to its present, exploring themes of work, play, culture and politics. For the first time King Creosote is writing from other people’s perspectives, losing none of the first-hand emotion of his previous material. In this concert, King Creosote will perform material from this project as well as his previous albums.

Support comes from Mercury Prize nominee Sam Lee, performing music from his 2015 release The Fade In Time, an album which takes traditional folk songs collected from around the British Isles and puts them in startlingly original new settings, combining his crooning vocals and intricate guitar lines with world music traditions. Lee will also perform music from his debut album, Ground Of its Own.
