‘Thank you to everyone who has come out to the shows and festivals throughout this year. The past 12 months have been incredibly intense, starting with the birth of my first child, an amazing and life-changing thing, the release of my second album, followed by a heavy touring schedule, during which I moved our home to the other side of the world and back to Europe.

This years touring has really taken its toll on me both mentally and physically, and I’ve been strongly advised to take some time out. I am therefore going to be moving the October/November headline tour dates to next year.

I’m very sorry to anyone I disappoint in doing this, I wouldn’t be doing it if I didn’t feel it absolutely necessary. I am really thankful for your love and support, and look forward to coming back next year with clarity and health.’

My Sad Captains

SPECIAL GUESTS
The Victoria
Friday 20 October 2017

£6.50 ADV 8 PM

We’re happy to announce My Sad Captains will playing at the The Victoria in October!

Three years after their last album, Best of Times, London’s My Sad Captains light the way to fresh shores with their radiant fourth album. Released through Bella Union on 6 October. Sun Bridge is named after the way a still lake offers the ideal conditions for the sun’s reflection to resemble a bridge across the water. Between its lustrous dream-pop surfaces and hidden depths, it’s an album that reflects on how uncertain times can be the seed-bed for change: or, for a bridge to extended adventures.

JAGARA

HERO FISHER
Colours
Tuesday 17 October 2017

£7 ADV 8 PM

We’re proud to announce JAGARA will be headlining the Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen in October!

Jagara are three sisters from London, named after a female warrior character from the anime world. Last summer they played over 15 festivals around the UK, as well as London Calling in Amsterdam to huge acclaim, showcasing their talents as multi-instrumentalists and expert harmonisers.

Cat on synths and electronic drum samples, Jane on guitars and lead vocals and Ruth switching between different instruments to create a dramatic, bold and electric live set which varies from stripped back 80s synth electronica (think New Order), guitar-led punk pop (Blondie) to R&B/funk moments (as in future single ‘Twice’ and the audacious ‘Last Dance’) and even euphoric Grimes-inspired dance builds and drops.

Tuesday 17 October 2017

£10 ADV 8 PM

We’re proud to accounce Matias Aguayo & The Desdemonas will play at Corsica Studios on October 17!

This turn of sonic events will transport you towards ominous encounters with a parallel life: a night trip on lost highways, feverish dreams under cold, crystal clear desert skies giving way to hot slow motion, snake dances to voodoo drums.

Aguayo sings accompanied by swinging and energetic drumming, profound minimalistic, psychotropic dark guitars, and spatial keyboard patterns to play a mix of new shades.

MEGGIE BROWN
Servant Jazz Quarters
Sunday 8 October 2017

£6 ADV 8 PM

We’re excited to announce Vorhees will be playing at the Servant Jazz Quarters in October!

Her latest EP Black Horse Pike represents an unintentionally chronological contemplation. Across a five-track suite, Vorhees explores memories of teenage meanderings in New Jersey’s suburban doldrums, the scars and artifacts of relationships with intimates and religion, and the impossible waking (un)reality of her insomniac tendencies throughout the world in ever changing hotel rooms and tour bus bunks.
