It’s been an amazing few weeks for gigs and this week is no exception; some big shows, some smaller but no less exciting. Preview our schedule below…
Malcolm Middleton presents Human Don’t Be Angry – Monday – Cargo
Former Arab Strap man returns under a slightly different guise. His Human Don’t Be Angry record is one of our big favourites of the year and we can’t wait to witness highlights from it at Cargo. Tickets still available.
The Temper Trap – Monday/Tuesday – KOKO
A double header of sold out shows at KOKO for The Temper Trap. They just dropped an addictive new record and this is the first chance London gets to hear those tracks in the flesh.
Martin Creed – Thursday – The Lexington
The superb Martin Creed is back ahead of Field Day/Apple Cart weekend and he has just announced a new record to come from Moshi Moshi too. It’s not often you get to see a Turner winning artist in the flesh but Thursday is one such opportunity.
Crybaby – Thursday – St. Pancras Old Church
The arresting drama and emotion in Crybaby’s songs aught to be elevated to a whole new level in the surrounds of St. Pancras Old Church a quietly intimate and beautiful venue. It should be a special one.
The Horrors – Friday – Brixton Academy
A roll-call of exciting new music and legends are in the house on Friday – Portishead’s Geoff Barrow brings his BEAK> project in support, alongside him are the ever-exciting Bo Ningen and TOY. The main attraction is one of the best bands to emerge from the UK this past decade playing a huge show as a victory lap to their Skying album.
S.C.U.M. – Saturday – Bishopsgate Institute
Another band running a victory lap are S.C.U.M. whose long-awaited debut record from last year is still earning many a spin in the EYOE office. Don’t miss this rare chance to catch them in full flow.
