Here’s a gorgeous, dramatic highlight from Malcolm Middleton’s Human Don’t Be Angry (playing for us next week). The record also features our favourite artwork of the year so far!

The huge debut record from Zulu Winter is out today. It’s non-stop all gold and well worth taking a listen to ahead of their big celebration at Boston Arms on Thursday. Take a listen below and tweet us what you think: @eatyourownears

A huge week of gigs this week, following a big one last week too – we have a couple of the biggest, best bands in the world this week and much more to get excited about too…
Perfume Genius – Monday – St. Pancras Old Church
We caught Perfume Genius on Thursday and it was jaw-dropping. Raw, intense and beautiful and most definitely unmissable He’s back again today for the lucky few who got tickets. (sold out)
The xx – Monday, Tuesday, Friday – Electrowerkz, Chats Palace, Battersea Arts Centre
Another very sold out, intimate trio of shows for The xx who are about to hit the comeback trail with rumours of an album later this year. Those lucky people in attendence will no doubt be treated to some new songs as well as those now classic cuts from the debut record at their first London shows for couple of years.
Niki and the Dove – Wednesday – XOYO
We’ve been avid fans of Niki and the Dove over the past year – and she’s sold out every venue we’ve put them in. They return to XOYO on Wednesday to celebrate the release of their stellar debut record.
Shabazz Palaces – Thursday – XOYO
Shabazz Palaces released one of our favourite albums of 2011 and have a magical live show to boot. The odd-rap team takeover XOYO on Thursday night for a rare London show.
Zulu Winter – Thursday – Boston Arms
A band whose rapid rise has been unbelievable. They didn’t exist a year ago, not nearly even – but they play Boston Arms on Thursday to celebrate the release of their debut album ‘Language’. It’s fantastic and we’re willing to bet this is the last time you get to see them in humble surroundings.
Spector – Thursday – Electric Ballroom
Spector are another band whose rise has been rapid and impressive. They have released killer single after single in anticipation of a debut album that will surely feel like a greatest hits. Come and see them play those crowd-pleasers at Electric Ballroom on Thursday.
Mystery Jets – Friday – Brixton Academy
Mystery Jets are in celebration mode too – having just released a brilliant record ‘Radlands’. The band hit Brixton for a big date and bring some killer support with them: Slow Club, Theme Park and Peace. Get down early for a long evening of great music.

We’re huge huge fans of Malcolm Middleton and the former Arab Strap guitarist returned recently with his Human Don’t Be Angry record. It’s a stellar piece of work and not to be slept on. If you haven’t heard it yet, check out it out below and then come and see him play Cargo on the 21st of May!
