Here at Eat Your Own Ears, we realise that not everyone who will be coming to Field Day lives in London and won’t necessarily want to try and get back home when the day is over. So, it was with interest that we saw a piece in The FADER on Russell’s of Clapton, a modern B&B in Clapton, East London. Being only a short distance from Victoria Park, it really is a perfect place to stay.

Dave i.d. DJ Mix by Clash Music on Mixcloud
Dave.i.d made this dark, twisted and atmospheric mix for Clash Music which fits in perfectly with his own brand of music.
Dave.I.D ‘Response’ Live from OFF THE UNCERTAIN BUTTON on Vimeo.
It’s just under a week now until Dave.i.d plays at Electrowerkz to mark the release of his debut album ‘Response’ on July 18. It has already received excellent reviews: Uncut gave it 4/5 and described Dave.i.d as “a mercurial producer with a golden touch” and The Whiteboard Project believes it will become “an inspiration to a new generation of music lovers.” We’ll leave it to the NME to have the final word on Dave.i.d:
“We imagine Londoner Dave Hedges’ ‘bedroom’ to be a little like Buffalo Bill’s lair from ‘The Silence Of The Lambs,’ but with synths instead of women trapped down the well. Darkly eccentric he weds post-dubstep and hip-hop production values with malevolent post-punk and eds up at a unique address in the same street as These New Puritans and Tricky (before he went rubbish).”
STEVE MASON and BLACK BEARD – DENNIS BOVELL by Domino Radio on Mixcloud
Last month, Steve Mason and Dennis Bovell talked on Domino Radio about their latest collaboration ‘Ghosts Outside,’ a ‘dub’ reinterpretation of Mason’s ‘Boys Outside’ released in 2010, and you can see them both in action on Wednesday 27 July at The Shacklewell Arms.
Blonde Redhead have decided to give away a remix EP of tracks from their latest album ‘Penny Sparkle.’ It really does feature a wide range of sounds, containing remixes from Salem, Pantha du Prince and Games. You can either stream and download it below.
