What to listen to…

I Only Know (What I Know Now) is gorgeous, described by Pitchfork as infinity contained in five minutes.


What to expect…

The debut album ‘James Blake’ is out early next year and all signs point to a Mercury favourite and critical darling. Something to be seriously excited over.

EYOE Tips for 2011 #1 – Anna Calvi

Welcome to our run down over the next week of acts we are tipping to have a big year in 2011.

Who?

Anna Calvi – fresh from blowing us away supporting Erland and the Carnival at XOYO.

What to Listen to now…

Amazing first single ‘Jezebel’, she sounds possessed, hints of Jeff Buckley and PJ Harvey.

What to expect…

She is gearing up to release her debut album on legendary label Domino no less. A headline tour early next year becons too.

Babeshadow

Iconic clothing label Lyle and Scott are curating a show next week at XOYO with us. The idea is to showcase the best in emerging talent, which brings us to Babeshadow who are playing alongside the brilliant James Yuill (there’s a Christmas pun in there somewhere but won’t make it).

Check out the talented Babeshadow boys above in a nice video shot at BBC Maida Vale studios. From the looks of things these guys are going to have a very big 2011.
