The Knocks

The Knocks Live Debut at Bowery Ballroom CMJ 2010 from HeavyRoc Music on Vimeo.

We are pretty excited to have The Knocks not once, but twice in the month of November. The duo have worked with the likes of Ellie Goulding and Sunday Girl but it’s their own material that is getting us worked up. Take a look at the above video for their debut live performance at CMJ and get yourself down to their debut London show at XOYO.

(The Knocks // 10th November // XOYO)

(Sleigh Bells + The Knocks // 21st November // XOYO)

Tribes

We are delighted to host hotly tipped TRIBES, twice this side of Christmas. They play the Lexington on the 2nd of Decemeber fresh from their support of the MYSTERY JETS on the 11th of Novemeber

I you don;t know them, their sound is lo-fi turned pop – simple, clean songwriting filtered through warm, fuzzy disjointedness. Described by the NME as  “the uncharted middle-ground that separates Pavement and The Courteeners…” Check out their great tour video below..

Peckham-based duo MOUNT KIMBIE have already caused a stir with their atmospheric releases, a percussive and experimental take on dubstep. Dominic Maker and Kai Campos first two eps caused a commotion when released last year, undergoing reworks from the likes of Faulty dl, SCB (Scuba's darker techno alias) and their sometime collaborator James Blake. With their own remixes (Foals and The xx) becoming hot property, Mount Kimbie have been a core part of the growing scene in London often associated with labels like Hyperdub and Hessle Audio.

From dubstep to post rock, traces of influence are visible, but the band's sound is very much their own. Sceneless and untethered from etiquette and genre codes, they float through dubstep and hip-hop, jazz, techno and ambient, post-rock, UK garage and film scores to startling effect.
