Seamus Fogarty – Old Queen’s Head – 4 October

We’re excited to announce that Seamus Fogarty will be playing at The Old Queen’s Head on 4 October!

Irish alt-folk and electronica alchemist Seamus Fogarty will release his new album The Curious Hand on October 6th. It is his first for Domino and follows his debut full-length God Damn You Mountain (Fence/Lost Map) and 2015’s EP Ducks and Drakes.

Originally from County Mayo on the west coast of Ireland, Fogarty now resides in London, and the capital provides the canvas forThe Curious Hand. Fogarty’s method of lifting sounds wholesale from his environment and tucking them into the folds of his songs like keepsakes, renders himself at once, artist and archivist as well as twisting the notion of the folk singer’s role as collector and custodian of stories, traditions and cultural curio.

The Curious Hand was produced by Seamus and Leo Abrahams (Brian Eno, Wild Beasts) who also plays on the album. Other notable players include Emma Smith on a plethora of instruments (violin, clarinet, bass to name a few), Rozi Plain (backing vocals), Aram Zarikian (drums) and Seamus’ brother John Fogarty (accordion).

We’re proud to accounce Matias Aguayo & The Desdemonas will play at Corsica Studios on October 17!

This turn of sonic events will transport you towards ominous encounters with a parallel life: a night trip on lost highways, feverish dreams under cold, crystal clear desert skies giving way to hot slow motion, snake dances to voodoo drums.

Aguayo sings accompanied by swinging and energetic drumming, profound minimalistic, psychotropic dark guitars, and spatial keyboard patterns to play a mix of new shades.

Rae Morris – Islington Assembly Hall – 28 September

Following her triumphant live return at London’s ICA earlier this month, Rae Morris has today announced her first full UK tour in almost 18 months. On sale this Friday (4th August), the tour kicks off in Norwich on 24th September, and takes in Nottingham, Salisbury and Leeds, finishing at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on 28th September.

Last month, Rae unveiled ‘Reborn’, the first taster from her forthcoming second album, perfectly showcasing her unmistakeable, astounding voice and seeing her boldly stepping forward as the pop star she was born to be.

Shot just outside of Beirut with Noel Paul (Bat For Lashes, Röyksopp), Rae had to say about the video:

“’Reborn’ was the first song that made me feel something when I started writing for this second record, so it feels fitting for it to be the first thing that people will hear. It’s about new beginnings, finding clarity and head space. Noel and I went to the side of a huge lake in Lebanon to shoot the video. The landscape was vast and barren in places but consistently beautiful.”
