There are few things more captivating than Mark Kozelek and a classical guitar. We’ve been rooting through footage on YouTube and unearthed a great clip of him playing Lucky Man for the excellent Mark K documentry On Tour from a couple of years ago.
We’ve got Mark Kozelek and his guitar playing St James Church Piccadilly in late August for what should be a perfect late summer evening.
Last night Sohn was on air as part of Radio 1’s ongoing residency series where artists get a turn behind the mic and selector, picking songs they want to spin for an hour. Sohn’s was full of excellent music and well worth a listen. Spin it below, and grab tickets for his September show with us here.

We were lucky enough to see Simian Mobile Disco’s fantastic Whorl show at Field Day, and now there’s a trailer for the album, which was made out in the desert with analog synthesizers. It’s out September 9th and should be every bit as beautiful as that sounds.
Miss them at Field Day? See them on Whorl release day at Union Chapel. Tickets here.
This Wednesday evening at Scala we have Fucked Up playing with support from Celebral Ballzy and Lower. Three terrific live bands and we’re hearing amazing things about the tour from reports elsewhere in the UK.
Fucked Up come hot of the heels of their brilliant new record Glass Boys, which is one of our favourites of 2014 so far (Cerebral Ballzy and Lower also have new records). We unearthed some excellent Pitchfork TV footage to whet the appetite. The band play in the round and it looks just as intense as you would expect.
You can still grab tickets for this one and we highly recommend you do.
