Atoms for Peace live at Oval Space

WWe’ve had a few memorable shows lately but this one might top it all. For a couple of hundred people at Oval Space on Friday legends Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich hit the stage armed with twin decks and a microphone to perform as Atoms for Peace (new album “Amok” is out today). It was a special show, and you can take a look at 30 minutes of it via fan footage above.

Pianist Envy is a new mixtape from Chilly Gonzales. The mix is to celebrate the legal change of name from Jason Beck to Chilly Gonzales (as his passport proves). He goes the whole Chilly in Pianist Envy as well, pulling apart the likes of 50 Cent, Daft Punk and Busta Rhymes and turning them into piano pieces. Listen below and download too.

Brolin – Reykjavik

A new single from Brolin just dropped ahead of his debut EP ‘Cundo’, which is coming out on Double Denim Records. Reykjavik is a real gem, flitting between Brolin’s yearning vocals and a bright beat that pops and skitters. Take a listen below and grab a ticket to see him in early March here: https://www.eatyourownears.com/events/brolin/

It’s the Brit Awards tonight and we’re crossing a few fingers for acts. We’ll be rooting for The xx (above) who have a British Group nod, Gotye is up against Springsteen and Frank Ocean for Best International Male and Florence and the Machine are hoping to scoop Best Single.

Follow us on @eatyourownears for all the latest from the awards themselves too.

Four Tet & Rocketnumbernine – Roseland

Four Tet and Rocketnumbernine have again hooked up for an epic collaboration. Rocketnumbernine’s debut single “Matthew and Toby” was produced by Kieran Hebden, but this time they go a step further, co-writing Roseland together. The tune itself is more than a bit special too, bathing itself in luscious textures and organic sounds. Fans of Four Tet’s early work will find a lot to love too. Catch both playing for us soon.
