GIVERS
– Louisiana’s GIVERS debut single ‘Up Up Up’ out 1st August

“Up UpUp is a wonderfully upbeat exercise in afro-beat rhythms, summery keyboards and excitable vocals” NME

“Most ebullient record you will hear all year”Observer

“Ultra-preppy folk pop from Louisiana”TheIndependent

“Their sound is awash with pastoral loveliness”The Fly

“A stand out from this year’s SXSW”Clash

‘Up Up Up’ is to be the debut release from the Deep South’s ebullient purveyors of melody, rhythm and anomalous harmonies, GIVERS. ‘Up UpUp’ received its world premiere on Radio 1as Zane Lowe’sNext Hypetrack and has gone on to be Fearne Cotton’s Record Of The Week. Up Up Up has also been added to Radio 1’s In New Music We Trust playlist and 6 Music’s B List.Further radio support for ‘Up Up Up’ comes from Radio 2 and XFM.

The video for ‘Up UpUp’ was directed by Tim Nackashi (Death Cab for Cutie, TV On The Radio, Robyn & Rye Rye) and has already had over 30 000 hits. The remix package for ‘Up Up Up’ includes reworks by Body Language and CSS.

‘Up Up Up’ – which comes from GIVERS debut album ‘In Light’ – will be released August 1ston Glassnote (Mumford & Sons, Phoenix, Kele, Two Door Cinema Club, The Temper Trap).

Based in Lafayette, Louisiana, the quintet was formed by Taylor Guarisco (singer & guitarist) and Tiffany Lamson (singer, ukulele & percussionist), who met at the University of New Orleans. When Hurricane Katrina hit, it forced the two back to their home of Lafayette where they met Kirby Campbell (drums, programming & vocals), Nick Stephan (keyboards & flute) and Josh LeBlanc (bass guitar) and began to form the basis for GIVERS.

After sold-out US tours with Dirty Projectors, appearances on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and a triumphant run of July UK dates, GIVERS will return to the UK for a second run of UK shows and festivals.
