The Roundhouse main space plays host to a Friday night showcase of some of the most interesting new bands for only £5 in the unparalleled space of the Roundhouse auditorium and in collaboration with CIFD Presents.

NZCA/Lines
AKA Michael Lovett, a maker of suave, synth pop, combining sparkling melodies with R&B beats, and lush arrangements with multilayered harmonies.

Shimmering slices of dream pop create a future world rooted in timeless magic. It’s partly that timeless quality that makes the music feel so good, a diverse lineage that stretches back to the Beach Boys, and zooms into the future, taking in The Neptunes,  Junior Boys, Timbaland and Bogdan Raczynski along the way.

Teleman
Teleman’s songcraft is second to none, creating exquisite pop tunes that instantly spark musical curiosity.  Their sonorous brew of guitar, drum and synths and innate ability for songwriting won their single ‘Christina’ numerous radio plays from 6Music’s Steve Lamacq, Tom Ravenscroft and Marc Riley, and comparisons to Belle and Sebastian and The Magnetic Fields.

Dark Bells
Dark Bells spin a beguiling web of haunting yet melodic sounds built on the bricks of post-punk with the atmosphere of an act you might have found on 4AD in 1983, where melancholy vocals and swirling drones hover above hypnotic soundscapes.

Paradise
Inhabiting their own beautiful, ethereal corner of the musical universe, poised exquisitely at the crossroads between the soaring soundscapes of Spiritualized and naive pop melodies, new UK band Paradise are an absolutely sublime proposition.

East India Youth
East India Youth’s album Total Strife Forever won the emphatic support of The Quietus and The 4o5 who were both blown away by the album’s brilliance, two years in the making in William Doyle’s bedroom studio. Time Out described East India Youth as Tim Hecker-esque electronic soundscapes and Byrne- and Bowie-indebted whimsical pop, and one to watch out for in 2013

CIFD presents are a new generation of Music Event and Broadcast Producers from the UK’s first Creative Industries degree run by City University, London in connection with the Roundhouse, Camden.
