In conjunction with our friends WHITE HEAT, who are celebrating 7 years of fantastic shows, we are delighted to present our favourite Brooklynites, SLEIGH BELLS.

SLEIGH BELLS are just a duo – Derek on beat production, guitars, and songwriting; Alexis Krauss on vocals – but their tracks ram together many sonic worlds. Their electronic beats thud with gut-rattling low end; guitars are distorted siren squalls, or heavily gated and thoroughly crunched power chords, or playful, beta-band-esque strums. Krauss flips easily from hip-hop hook, to pop power, to sunshined, coquettish coos.

Past members of Sleigh Bells went on to form buzz-band Surfer Blood. Derek’s old hardcore band Poison The Well toured with Give Up The Ghost, the defunct hardcore outfit of past BTW Cold Cave’s Wes Eisold. Alexis Krauss is a school teacher with a pop-singer past. All of which gives certain strength to their reinvention in this excellent new outfit.

Their combustible pop is finely razed by Alexis Krauss’s outsized yet totally natural stage presence.

TEETH are a DIY trio who don’t do things the easy way. When they first set up a myspace page, it included only one song, which was a live version of Alanis Morissette’s ‘Thank You’, performed by Alanis. Now they have 2 of their own tracks and 3 remixes, all seedy synth sounds and dancey beats, held together with luscious female vocals courtesy of Veronica So. Their raucous punk-filled music would give Crystal Castles a run for their money, and with a new 7″ just released via Moshi Moshi and cassettes to collect, they are not leaving their DIY roots behind just yet.

thisaintnodisco plays a vast array of styles, from L.A Dream Pop and New York Garage to London Lo-Fi and Warpy Electronica, he prides himself on an ever changing set list. With notable recent appearances, alongside the likes of Memory Tapes, Gold Panda, How to Dress Well, Memory House and a main stage slot at this years Field Day, the future looks rosy.
