Field Day Radio is back for a tenth show, and this time features an exclusive, in-depth interview with legendary rock drummer Ginger Baker, who is renowned for his work with seminal bands Cream and Blind Faith as well as with Afrobeat creator Fela Kuti. In this interview he takes us on an incredible journey through his life: back to his school days when he used his desk as a drum kit, to the musicians he admires, to his times with Cream and all the way to Africa (he lived in Nigeria for 6 years)…

Plus there is music from King Krule, Jagwar Ma, Metz and Happa; Four Tet’s brilliant remix of Justin Timberlake’s Suit & Tie, classic tracks by Cream and Fela Kuti, as well as a live recording of the Miles Davis Quintet performing ‘Bitches Brew’ back in 1969.

Rough Trade x Field Day Compilation

Field Day and Rough Trade have teamed up for a very special compilation album.

The double disc, out on Record Store Day, has been put together by Field Day and Eat Your Own Ears man Tom Baker and is full of classics from acts on the 2013 bill including Animal Collective, Bat For Lashes, Django Django, Four Tet (Official), Savages, Solange, TNGHT and many more.

Dark Bells – Wildflower

Here’s a swirly new video for Dark Bells excellent tune Wildflower. Shooting guitar needles its way around a driving beat and Teneil Throssell’s yearning, elemental vocal. Great stuff. We can’t wait to see them at Handpicked, at the Roundhouse this Friday night. The trio also play Field Day.
