21st March – Archipel – Shacklewell (follow link to download ticket)

23rd March – Tim, Chad & Sherry – The Waiting Room

Tim, Chad & Sherry are made up of some serious indie royalty. Frontman Brian Kotzur previously drummed for Silver Jews and collaborates with filmaker Harmony Korine, while other members have played with the likes of Lambchop. Have a listen to their dizzyingly inventive pop music below…

30th March – TEEN – Shacklewell Arms

We’re hugely excited to have TEEN hit Shacklewell Arms at the end of March. The band started when Teeny Lieberson left Here We Go Magic. Latest single Carolina is one of the best things the band has done to date, a spectral slice of Art-Pop that satisfies deeply. Have a listen below…

The xx – Sunset (Kim Ann Foxman Remix)

We’ve been burning through plays of this glorious Kim Ann Foxman remix of The xx on Spotify for the last week. It’s a bit of a relief that we can switch the format up now that the tune has popped up on YouTube. Just in time for the weekend. Hear it above.

Steve Mason – Oh My Lord/Guardian Feature

Steve Mason’s new record “Monkey Minds In The Devil’s Time” came out this week and it’s a real gem. Lots of reviews so far are calling it his best since the Beta Band days and we’d agree with that and then some. Check out the stunning single Oh My Lord above and read an excellent feature on the man from The Guardian below…

Copenhagen has been responsible for some exciting boundary pushing music over the past few years – Ice age being one easy example. Another band to emerge from the city is Pinkunoizu, a band committed to sonic exploration via guitars and pounding drums. There’s something strangely anthemic about “Tin Can Valley”, a song you can hear below. It’s excellent too. We’ve announced a show with them at Electrowerkz for 15th May. Get onboard.

Dan Michealson and the Coastguards – Sheets

Dan Michaelson (also from Memphis Industries signed Absentee) has been making beautiful, stark solo music for a while now. “Blindspot’ is his debut with band The Coastguards backing him and it’s out on the 25th of this month. Judging by “Sheets” (listen above) it’s going to be a real stunner. ‘Sheets’ carries a dolefully sway to it while Michaelson’s tender baritone forges a clear path between gorgeous acoustic guitar and piano. We have Dan Michaelson and The Coastguards playing St Pancras Old Church on the 15th of March and it’s promises to be one of the best shows so far this year.
