Field Day Radio Episode 6 feat. Kurt Vile

The latest episode of Field Day Radio is up and rolling to celebrate the announcement of new names yesterday evening. Joining the line-up: Amateur Best, Connan Mockasin, Dark Dark Dark, Egyptian Hip Hop, John Cooper Clarke, Kurt Vile, Mount Kimbie, Palma Violets, Savages, Seth Troxler, Shed, Solange, Splashh, Stubborn Heart and Wild Nothing.

Verity Susman – To Make You Afraid

Verity Susman (formerly of Electrelane) is something of a cult hero these days – Jehnny Beth from Savages namechecked her as a big vocal influence). Her solo material is starting to emerge and sounding really exciting too. There’s far more electronic scope as drum machines tick in the background. Susman’s vocal and lyrics are still chilling too.

Catch a rare appearence at London’s Electrowerkz for what is sure to be an early 2013 highlight.



Brit Nomination for The xx, Florence and The Machine and more

Great list of Brit nominations last night featuring a few Eat Your Own Ears associated acts and some more from the last year or so of Field Day too.

Jessie Ware and Bat for Lashes will contest the British female solo act while The xx are our pick of the bunch for British group. Florence gets a nod for British single for Spectrum (Say My Name) and Gotye are up against Springsteen, Frank Ocean and Michael Bublé for International Male.
